I’ve always been intrigued by history and keeping good records, so that’s what inspired me to start creating a database of something that is near and dear to my heart. Being the 2010 Ohio Fair’s Queen was one of the most rewarding and humbling experiences of my life, and I met so many wonderful individuals throughout my 14,000+ miles traveled. Now, I’m attempting to track down past Ohio Fairs’ Queens and Ohio State Fair Queens to create a historic document and also reconnect for networking purposes.
The Ohio State Fair Queen dates back to 1924, where the young woman was crowned at the Ohio State Fair. Later, (estimated to be late 1990s, but I’m also tracking down this info.) the title was changed to the Ohio Fairs’ Queen and was operated through the Ohio Fair Managers Association.
I’ve reached out to my contacts at the Ohio State Fair and the Ohio Fair Managers Association to retrieve their records, but I believe they are very limited.
